USER’S GUIDE

 

This WordPress plugin is designed to create, manage and display different targeted and interactive ads. It also offers options that enable you to customize your ads and even track the statistics of them.

 

Important Note: The plugin also comes in a LITE version. PLEASE NOTE if you have the LITE version: the option to add ads on the home page and other custom styling is not available.

How To Add Ads

 

(from this point it is assumed that you already have logged in to your WordPress Admin area and successfully installed + activated the plugin…)

Step 1: From the dashboard, hover your cursor to the WP EZ Ad Creator menu item on the left admin panel and click Create Ad. It will look something like this:


 

Here is a full view. Please note that below this image you will find explanation of the fields:

1a: Title. This field is labeled with the placeholder “Enter Title Here” and should be filled out with a unique name to determine it from the rest of the Ads once there had been several entries already.

1b: Layout. Choose from 9 different layouts you would like to be applied on the current ad being created.

1c: Link Ad. Enter in this field the complete URL of the page where users are redirected once the ad has been clicked.

1d: Content Title. The field should be filled out with the ad title.

1e: Content Tagline. This field is where you should enter the ad subheading or subtitle.

1f: Content Description. This is field is where you should enter the details and information of your ad.

1g: Button Text. The text entered in this field will serve as the label of the button that would trigger the redirection of the user to the designated link.

1h: Icon. Option to add an icon on your ad.

1i: Size. Choose from the dropdown the size you would like to be applied on your ad.

1j: Background Color. Choose from the built-in color picker what you would like to use as the ad’s background. You may also enter the hexadecimal value of the color of your preference.

1k: Use Gradient. The switch when enabled will apply gradient style of color on the selected background color.

1l: Font. Choose the size, the font family as well as the color of the text for the contents on the ad.

1m: Border. Turn the switch on if you would like to apply borders to your ad. This will display additional options that will customize the border style. By default, the switch is turned off.

1n: Border Radius. Turn the switch on if you would like to add stylish curvatures on the edges of your ad box. By default, this option is turned off.

1o: Button Style. Choose the style how you would like the ad button will be rendered and the color to be applied on it.

1p: Icon Position. Select from the dropdown the location you would like the icon of the ad to be placed.

1q: Lifetime. This switch by default is turned off and therefore would set the ad to be available forever. However, if the switch is turned on, this will offer options where you can set a specific duration until when the ad will be available.

1r: Display in Mobile. Turn the switch on if you would like the ad to be available and viewable in mobile devices.

1s: Effect. Choose from the dropdown list an animated effect you would like to apply on your ad for an added interactivity and styling.

1t: Audio. Further customize your ad’s interactivity and style by selecting an audio background from 5 available audios available on the dropdown list.

1u: Close Link. Turn the switch on if you would like to display a close link on the ad being created.

 

How to Edit Ads

 

From the WP admin dashboard, click the Ad Creator menu item on the left panel.

Then click All Ads. This should now take you to a page similar to this:

To edit your existing ads, simply click the title of the Ad or the blue edit button located on the same row for each ad.

Keep in mind that editing (or creating) ads is much like creating a post or page. Once finished you must Publish to make the changes live.


 

How to Delete Ads

 

From the WP admin dashboard, click the Ad Creator menu item on the left panel.

Then click All Ads. This should now take you to a page similar to this:

To delete an existing ad, simply click the red delete button located on the same row for each ad.

Keep in mind that once deleted, you may not be able to recover your ad!


 

How to Insert Ads in the Home Page

 

As noted at start of this document, the LITE version will not allow some functions…

From WP Admin the dashboard, hover your cursor over the menu item on the left admin panel and click Settings.

You should now be taken to the Home Ad page like the screenshot below:

Click blue Add Ad button to setup a popup ad on the home.

 

This should trigger the display of a window containing options for the home ad like:

 

Ad: From the dropdown, select from the list of ads which one you would like to use as the home popup ad.

Position: Select the location the popup should appear in the home page’s window.

Once through setting up the necessary options, click Add Ad button to apply to place on your site.

 

How To Insert Ads In Pages/Posts

 

Create or edit a post or page as normal.  Make sure that the editor you are using is set to visual editor. From the toolbar section of the editor, click the icon like in the image below:

Once you have selected which Ad to use, click Add Ad button to generate the shortcode that will display the ad in your post.


 

How To Insert Ads In Sidebars

 

To insert an ad in your sidebars, navigate to the Widgets section of the WordPress Admin area. Look for the widget named Ez Ad Creator.

Drag the widget item to the sidebar you would like it to be displayed:

Once the widget item is placed in the designated sidebar, it will then expand like shown above. Select from the dropdown which ad you wish to be displayed. Choose it and click save.


 

Viewing Statistics

 

To check simple statistics of how your ads are performing, simply hover over your cursor to menu from the WP admin panel and click Statistic.

You will be taken to the statistics page where you can filter out the results by date. Displayed first is the graphical representation and below it is the tabulated data for each ad:
